go for the goal

I'm a junior in college, and it's finally setting in.  After this year, I have one more year of school and then I'm off to the real world.  I'm used to knowing how my future will play out.  I've lived in Arizona my entire life, and the first time I moved was to my dorm room, so I knew it was going to happen.  After school, I have no idea where I will live.  I have ideas of where I want to live, but who knows if I'll end up somewhere like Iowa? or North Carolina? instead of beautiful California.  Will I be waiting tables or still doing unpaid internships, or will I have the job of my dreams with a corner office?  It's all about who you know, research, and putting yourself out there.

Cameron Johnson, an entrepreneur and millionaire by the time he was 21, came and spoke to my management class last Thursday night.  He was inspirational.  Brooke and I got all giddy and nervous when we went up and asked him to sign his book for us after watching his speech in the front row of the class (that was my first time sitting front row!).  He said that if you want something, you have to ask for it.  Only you can control what you get, because if you don't bother trying, that something special will never happen.

So, I'm going to start asking others for what I want, and most of all, I'm going to ask myself.  Here's a list of my goals that I want to accomplish starting now--not tomorrow, now.

make fitness a priority
start researching careers & companies I want to work for
find internships for this summer in LA or here
be the best friend & girlfriend that I can be
get my homework done ahead of time
save up for my own car :)
hahaha someday :)
